Overview :
Your day begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or riad in Fes. You’ll set off toward Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, known for its rich history and magnificent architecture.
Upon arrival, your local guide will take you on a walking tour of the city, starting with the famous Bab Mansour, the grand gateway adorned with intricate zellige mosaics and carved stonework — one of Morocco’s most beautiful gates. You’ll visit the Madrasa Bou Inania, a splendid example of Marinid architecture, and stroll through the lively medina where artisans craft traditional goods. You’ll also see Place El Hedim, Meknes’ bustling square filled with colors, aromas, and local life.
After exploring Meknes, we’ll drive to Volubilis, an extraordinary archaeological site and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient Roman city is among the best-preserved in North Africa. Your guide will walk you through the ruins, explaining its history, mosaics, and monuments, offering a vivid glimpse into Morocco’s Roman past. Don’t forget your camera — the views here are breathtaking, with the backdrop of the surrounding olive groves and Atlas Mountains.
We’ll enjoy lunch in a nearby traditional Moroccan restaurant, savoring authentic flavors before returning to Fes. On the way back, there will be an opportunity to stop at a charming local village to experience Moroccan rural life. You’ll be back in Fes by the late afternoon or early evening, ending your cultural and historical journey.
