7 Days from Tangier to Marrakech Sahara tours
1st Day: Tanger – Chefchaouen
Our journey will start with a little northern tour around Tetouan a city nearby Tangier well known for its tropical beaches and clean streets. Our next stop is at Chefchaouen the pearl of north, a small village in the heart of Rif Mountains ; We will be drinking mint tea in the grand square called “ Plaza Uta el Hamam” , it is well characterized with its Spanish designs , shops , cafés and joyful riads we’ll be spending then night in one them .
2nd Day: Exploring Chefchaouen
today’s only dedicated to this beautiful town , we’ll be digging through its history and beauty .do you know this village dates back to 1471 , its name derives from the phrase “chouf chouen” which literally means look at homes , those stylized houses with a fine touch of both Andalusian and European architecture . So you will have the chance to explore its narrow streets in the old medina, take pictures for souvenirs, and then we visit Rass el Ma a water source that is used for irrigation and washing cloths . as night falls we will be back to either hotel or Riad .
3rd Day: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Fes
As the drifting and fresh breeze of morning strikes, we will be driving through atlas mountains until we reach the Volubilis ruins, remains of the Roman empire .then we will make a quick stop at Meknes the capital of the first ruling arabic dynasty in Morocco , it dates back to 823 , as the sky gets darker we will be found in Fez checking in to our hotel .
4th Day: Fez guided tours
All day devoted for visiting Fez, the oldest of the imperial cities, home to the world’s first university dating from the 9th century and one of the most complete medieval cities in existence. Surrounded by huge defensive walls, it seems suspended in a time warp, somewhere between the middle Ages and the modern. Here we will have our local guide in the medieval Medina you will be visiting the famous tanneries and the Karaouine mosque. After lunch, in a typical Moroccan restaurant in the Medina, you’ll visit the Merenid tombs and experience a wonderful panoramic view of the city. Check into your Accommodation.
5th Day: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Erg Chebbi
After breakfast we leave the city , and we move to nature , Middle Atlas mountains . we make a quick stop at cedar forest in Azrou , take a few photos with entertaining and well loved apes . we continue our trip onto Midelt the ‘apple’ of morocco , Errachidia , and Erfoud to explore fossils that’s been there for thousands of years . Then we pass by Rissani and last but not least desert of Erg Chebbi next to Merzouga where will be spending the night in a beautiful hotel getting supper and listening to local music .
6th Day: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades valley – Ouarzazate
Day six starts with a mesmerizing sunrise , and a quite peculiar silence in vast waves of sand , our destination will be back to Merzouga village to get a healthy breakfast and then we’ll drive till the Todra gorges , a quick stop to get fresh air and enjoy the view then we make short stops at “Rissani, Jorf and a traditional lunch in Tinghir. We rest and we hit the road again towards the Dades valley , you can wander there and get your composure. Then we set off to Ouarzazat where many Hollywood movies were shot.
7thDay : Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas mountains – Marrakech
As the seventh day commences , we’ll get breakfast in the valley , then we embark to Kalaa M’gouna and Skoura . If you’re a cinephile we suggest you a special tour in Ouarzazat’s movies studios where many famous movies were shot. Later on we will be reaching Ait benhaddou Kasbah , our team will make sure to grant you an exclusive tour in the largest castle in morocco . by this time we will be going towards the imperial city Marrakech well known for its luxurious Riads , well the night will be spent in anywhere you’d prefer .and then we part .
