Overview :

A gentle escape into mountains, rivers & Berber culture

Our Marrakech to Ourika Valley day trip is a soft and refreshing journey into the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, just one hour from the city. As soon as we leave Marrakech, the busy streets fade away and the landscapes begin to change green fields, quiet farming villages, flowing rivers, and the pure mountain air that makes the valley feel so peaceful.

The Ourika Valley is known for its natural beauty and its warm, traditional Berber communities. Life here moves slowly. Families still bake bread in clay ovens, collect fresh water from the river, and live in houses made from stone and earth. Walking through the valley gives you a real sense of Moroccan countryside life, untouched and full of heart.

With our local team, you travel comfortably and at a gentle pace. We stop for scenic viewpoints, for tea along the river, and for cultural moments that help you understand the valley beyond the typical tourist path.
Once we reach the heart of Ourika, you can enjoy easy walks, admire waterfalls, meet Berber families, explore local villages, and feel the quiet magic of the mountains around you.

This day trip is perfect for travelers looking for nature, soft adventure, culture, and peaceful moments away from Marrakech.
Every step through the valley feels calm, real, and connected to the land.

With Morocco Desert Safari, you discover not just the landscapes  but also the stories, the smiles, and the warm spirit of the Berber people who call this valley home.

A gentle day… simple beauty… flowing water… and the true heartbeat of the Atlas Mountains.

Marrakech to Ourika Valley day trip   : Itinerary

Marrakech to Ourika Valley Day Trip

A gentle day in the heart of the Atlas Mountains

Your day begins with a warm pick up from your riad or hotel in Marrakech. As we leave the city, the noise slowly fades and the scenery opens into soft countryside. Olive trees, orchards, and wide mountain views guide the road, giving you a gentle transition from city life to the calm of the High Atlas Mountains.

Along the way, we stop at a women’s argan oil cooperative, where you can see how Morocco’s famous argan oil is prepared completely by hand. The women show you each step of the process, and you learn how this traditional craft supports families and keeps Berber heritage alive. It is a simple but beautiful cultural moment.

When we arrive in the Ourika Valley, everything feels fresh and peaceful. The river flows quietly through the valley, cafés sit by the water, and small Berber houses are built into the hillsides. You can walk gently along the riverside, take photos of the green landscapes, and enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by nature.

We continue deeper into the valley until we reach the village of Setti Fatma, famous for its waterfalls. With a local mountain guide, you walk slowly toward the first or second waterfall. The path is scenic and suitable for most travelers full of fresh mountain air, flowing water, and beautiful views. The sound of the river and the cool breeze make this walk one of the most relaxing experiences in Morocco.

For lunch, we recommend a small riverside restaurant, where you can enjoy a freshly cooked tagine, salad, and warm bread beside the water. Sitting by the river with good food and mint tea is one of the softest, most peaceful moments of the day.

After lunch, you have free time to enjoy the valley in your own way. You can sit by the river, explore the village, visit small local shops, or take another quiet walk through the mountain paths. The atmosphere here is calm, gentle, and perfect for relaxing.

As the day comes to an end, we drive back to Marrakech, following the same scenic road through the mountains. When we drop you off at your riad or hotel, you return with a peaceful heart and beautiful memories from the Atlas Mountains.
