Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Valley
Your 3 Days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. We travel through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass and passing traditional Berber villages, panoramic viewpoints, and beautiful mountain landscapes.
Our first major stop is the famous Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic historic villages. After exploring the kasbah, we continue to Ouarzazate, often called the Gateway to the Sahara, before driving through the lush Skoura Oasis, known for its palm groves and traditional kasbahs.
In the afternoon, we pass through the beautiful Valley of Roses before arriving in the stunning Dades Valley, where dramatic rock formations, green gardens, and traditional Berber villages create a peaceful setting for the night. Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we begin our peaceful drive toward the incredible Todra Gorge. As we enter the canyon, the tall cliffs rise up around us almost 300 meters high creating a cool, fresh space that feels calm and powerful at the same time. You can walk along the small river, enjoy the shade, and take your time to feel the natural beauty of this magical place.
When we continue our journey, the landscapes begin to change slowly. We pass through small desert towns like Tinjdad and Erfoud, famous for their fossils, date palms, and warm local life. The mountains fade behind us, the plains become wider, and step by step, the golden dunes of Merzouga begin to appear on the horizon.
By the afternoon, we reach Merzouga, the welcoming gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, your camels will be waiting for you. Together, we ride gently across the soft sand as the sun begins to set, coloring the desert in beautiful shades of orange, gold, and soft red. It is a peaceful moment that feels like a dream.
When we arrive at our luxury desert camp, you are greeted with warm mint tea and friendly smiles. After settling in, a delicious Moroccan dinner is served under the open sky. As the night grows darker, we gather around the fire for Berber music and drumming, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
