Our Merzouga Sunset Camel Trek in Erg Chebbi begins in the late afternoon, when the heat of the day starts to soften, and the desert becomes calm. Your local camel guide will meet you at your camp or hotel and help you get ready for this gentle and unforgettable moment.
We begin our slow camel ride into the heart of the dunes, moving across the soft golden sand as the Sahara starts to cool down. The silence is peaceful, you can hear only the quiet steps of the camels and the warm desert breeze. It feels like the whole Sahara is preparing for the magic of the evening.
After about 45 minutes, we reach the top of a high dune where we sit together and wait for the sun to slowly sink behind the horizon.
