Ouarzazate to Marrakech 5 Days Desert Tour

Wake up early to witness one of the Sahara’s most unforgettable moments, sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast, we begin a fascinating 4×4 excursion to discover the hidden treasures of the Merzouga region.

Our journey takes us beyond the dunes to explore a different side of the Sahara. After breakfast, we leave the Sahara behind and begin our journey through some of the most beautiful landscapes of southern Morocco. Our first stop is Rissani, the historic capital of the Tafilalt region and one of Morocco’s most authentic market towns. Famous for its traditional souk, date markets, and desert heritage, Rissani offers a glimpse into daily life away from the tourist crowds.

We then continue to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where towering canyon walls rise more than 300 meters above the river below. This natural wonder is one of Morocco’s most impressive landscapes and a favorite destination for photographers and nature lovers. There will be time to walk through the gorge, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and admire the dramatic scenery before continuing west.

In the afternoon, we travel through the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations, ancient kasbahs, and traditional Berber villages. As the scenery changes from desert plains to mountain landscapes, you’ll discover why this region is often called the heart of southern Morocco. Arriving at your hotel in the valley, enjoy a relaxing evening, a traditional Moroccan dinner, and beautiful views over the surrounding mountains.

After breakfast, we continue our journey through the beautiful landscapes of southern Morocco, travelling along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Our first stop is the Rose Valley, a picturesque region known for its fragrant Damascus roses, traditional villages, and stunning mountain scenery. Depending on the season, you may have the opportunity to visit a local cooperative and discover how natural rose products are made using traditional methods.

We then travel to the peaceful Skoura Oasis, one of Morocco’s most beautiful palm groves. Surrounded by thousands of date palms, Skoura is home to the historic Kasbah Amridil, one of the country’s finest examples of traditional southern Moroccan architecture. Here, you’ll have time to explore the kasbah, walk among the palm trees, and learn about life in the oasis for generations of local families.

In the afternoon, we arrive in Ouarzazate, often called the Gateway to the Sahara. This fascinating city is known for its historic kasbahs, cinematic landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. Depending on your arrival time, you may visit Kasbah Taourirt, explore the famous Atlas Film Studios, or simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere of this unique desert city.

After breakfast, we begin the final day of your Ouarzazate to Marrakech Desert Tour, travelling through some of Morocco’s most spectacular mountain landscapes. Our first stop is the famous Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic kasbahs. Surrounded by desert scenery and centuries of history, this remarkable fortified village has featured in many international films and remains one of the country’s most visited landmarks.

Leaving Aït Ben Haddou behind, we continue through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains, following the scenic road towards Marrakech. Along the way, we’ll cross the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest mountain pass in Morocco, offering panoramic views of valleys, traditional Berber villages, and rugged mountain peaks. There will be opportunities to stop, admire the scenery, and capture some final photographs of Morocco’s incredible landscapes.

By the afternoon, we arrive in Marrakech, the vibrant Red City and one of Morocco’s most exciting destinations. Your tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel, riad, or Marrakech Airport. As your journey comes to an end, you’ll leave with unforgettable memories of the Sahara Desert, authentic cultural encounters, and the remarkable landscapes that make Morocco such a special place to explore.
